About Pain of Salvation
Pain of Salvation is a Swedish progressive metal band led by singer, guitarist and principal songwriter Daniel Gildenlöw. The group is known for concept-driven records that move between heavy rock, intricate arrangements and quieter passages, including The Perfect Element, Part I, Remedy Lane and BE. “Ashes” and “Undertow” are among its signature songs.
In 2003, Pain of Salvation recorded an acoustic concert at Blå Salongen in Eskilstuna, later released as the live album 12:5. The Scarsick tour brought the band to Paradiso in Amsterdam in 2007, and that performance became the concert film and live album Ending Themes (On the Two Deaths of Pain of Salvation).
