About Painters and Dockers
Painters and Dockers are an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1982. Led by singer Paul Stewart, they play irreverent pub rock driven by punk and funk rhythms, guitars and a brass section. The band is known for the album Kiss My Art and songs including “Nude School,” “Die Yuppie Die” and “The Boy Who Lost His Jocks on Flinders Street Station.”
The group built its live following through pub and university shows around Australia during the 1980s. Its theatrical full-band performances later reached overseas audiences, including an appearance at England’s Reading Festival.
