About Parsonsfield

Parsonsfield is an American folk-rock band formed in Connecticut under the name Poor Old Shine. The group adopted its present name after recording in Parsonsfield, Maine, and is known for songs including “Weeds or Wildflowers” and the albums Poor Old Shine and Blooming Through the Black.

The band performed its original music onstage in the American Repertory Theater production of The Heart of Robin Hood in Cambridge, then joined the production for its run at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre. Parsonsfield also played Newport Folk Festival and Bonnaroo.
