About Pat Travers Band
Pat Travers Band is a hard-rock and blues-rock group formed in London in 1975 by Canadian guitarist and singer Pat Travers. The band is known for guitar-led songs including “Snortin’ Whiskey” and “Crash and Burn,” as well as its concert version of “Boom Boom (Out Go the Lights).” Key albums include Makin’ Magic, Heat in the Street and Crash and Burn.
Live! Go for What You Know, released in 1979, documented the band’s touring lineup of Travers, guitarist Pat Thrall, bassist Mars Cowling and drummer Tommy Aldridge. That lineup brought twin-guitar arrangements to the group’s club, theatre and festival performances, followed in 1980 by an appearance at Reading Festival.
