Phil Beer in Twyford

Phil Beer is an English folk singer and multi-instrumentalist, born in Devon in 1953 and best known as one half of Show of Hands alongside Steve Knightley. His fiddle, guitar, mandolin and vocals are central to the duo’s sound, heard on songs including “Cousin Jack,” “Country Life” and “Roots.” He has also performed with The Albion Band. In 1996, Phil Beer and Steve Knightley brought Show of Hands to the Royal Albert Hall for the first time. They returned for anniversary concerts in 2007 and 2017, while Phil Beer also toured in solo format, led the Phil Beer Band and performed as part of the multi-fiddler ensemble Feast of Fiddles.
