Quatuor Modigliani in Freiburg im Breisgau

Quatuor Modigliani is a French string quartet formed in Paris in 2003 by musicians who studied at the Conservatoire de Paris. Its repertoire centers on the Classical, Romantic and French quartet traditions, and its recordings include music by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Debussy, Ravel and Saint-Saëns. In 2014, the quartet took over the artistic direction of the revived Rencontres Musicales d’Évian, making the festival an important base for its performance and educational work. Its concert history extends well beyond Évian-les-Bains: the ensemble has appeared at Carnegie Hall in New York and Wigmore Hall in London, as well as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
