About Rapalje


Rapalje is a Dutch Celtic folk band formed in 1996. The group plays Irish and Scottish folk and is known for its versions of songs including “Wat zullen we drinken” and “The Wild Rover,” as well as albums such as Into Folk and Spades.

Rapalje has performed at multiple editions of Castlefest in Lisse. Its concerts feature fiddle, whistles, accordion, bagpipes, guitar and percussion, and the musicians often appear in kilts. The band also founded and hosts the Rapalje Zomerfolk Festival in Groningen.
