Raul Midón is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in New Mexico in 1966, whose music draws on soul, jazz and acoustic pop. He is known for the album State of Mind and songs including its title track and “Sunshine (I Can Fly).” Bad Ass and Blind and If You Really Want received Grammy nominations. He sings, plays acoustic guitar, creates percussion on the instrument and imitates a trumpet with his voice, an approach he also presented at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. His festival appearances include Montreux Jazz Festival and North Sea Jazz Festival.
