Red Box is a British pop group formed in London by Simon Toulson-Clarke and Julian Close. Its synth-led new wave sound is best known through “Lean on Me (Ah-Li-Ayo)” and “For America,” both included on the debut album Circle & Square. The group’s catalogue also includes Motive, Plenty and Chase the Setting Sun. Red Box reconvened in 2010 around Plenty and resumed playing concerts after a long break. The later shows use a full-band format and draw on the 1980s singles as well as the group’s subsequent records, led by the voice of Simon Toulson-Clarke.
