Richard Clapton is an Australian rock singer-songwriter and guitarist from Sydney. He became known in the 1970s through songs including “Girls on the Avenue,” “Capricorn Dancer” and “Deep Water,” as well as the albums Main Street Jive and Goodbye Tiger. He entered the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1999.

In 1979, Richard Clapton performed at the Concert of the Decade on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. Nearly two decades later, he appeared at Mushroom 25 Live, the label-anniversary concert held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
