Robert Forster in Woolloongabba

Robert Forster is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Brisbane in 1957. He co-founded The Go-Betweens with Grant McLennan in 1977 and wrote songs including “Spring Rain” and “Dive for Your Memory.” His solo catalogue began with Danger in the Past and later included The Evangelist, Songs to Play, Inferno and The Candle and the Flame. In 2005, the reunited Go-Betweens filmed the concert portion of That Striped Sunlight Sound at The Tivoli. After McLennan’s death in 2006, Robert Forster returned to solo touring and performed material from his later records in clubs and theatres across Australia and Europe. His solo concerts have drawn on both his own albums and the songs he wrote for The Go-Betweens, keeping work created with Grant McLennan in his live repertoire.
