Shabazz Palaces Tickets & 2026–2027 Tour Dates

Shabazz Palaces are an American experimental hip-hop duo formed in Seattle by Ishmael Butler of Digable Planets and multi-instrumentalist Tendai Maraire. The first hip-hop act signed to Sub Pop, they are known for the albums Black Up, Lese Majesty and the paired Quazarz releases, records built around abstract rhymes, electronic textures and layered percussion.

Shabazz Palaces performed at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago in 2011 following the release of Black Up. Six years later, Butler and Maraire presented material from the Quazarz albums at NPR Music’s Tiny Desk, using vocals, electronics and hand percussion.
