About Sister Sledge
Sister Sledge is an American vocal group formed in Philadelphia in 1971 by sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim and Kathy Sledge. Their disco, funk and soul catalogue is led by the 1979 album We Are Family, produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, and its songs “We Are Family,” “He’s the Greatest Dancer” and “Lost in Music.”
In 1974, Sister Sledge performed at the Zaire 74 festival in Kinshasa. Decades later, the group brought those songs to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 2017.
