Spiritualized in Nottingham

Spiritualized is an English rock band formed in Rugby in 1990 by Jason Pierce, a co-founder of Spacemen 3. The band plays psychedelic space rock shaped by drones, gospel voices and orchestral arrangements. Its central records include Lazer Guided Melodies, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space and Let It Come Down. A 1997 concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall was recorded for the live album Royal Albert Hall October 10 1997. In 2006, Pierce recast the material for the Acoustic Mainlines tour, performing in a small ensemble that included strings and gospel singers. Spiritualized performed Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space in full with an orchestra and choir at the Barbican in 2009.
