About Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld
Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld is a collaboration between Italian composer and electronic musician Teho Teardo and German vocalist Blixa Bargeld, the frontman of Einstürzende Neubauten and a former member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Their experimental songs draw on electronics, guitar, chamber instrumentation and Bargeld’s multilingual vocals. The partnership is best known for the albums Still Smiling and Nerissimo, as well as the companion releases Spring and Fall.
Still Smiling provided the repertoire for their early European concerts, and performances built around Nerissimo followed. Teardo plays guitar and electronics while Bargeld sings and recites; their concert ensemble has also featured cello and bass clarinet. They have presented this material in theatres and arts venues in Rome and Berlin.
