Testament is an American thrash metal band formed in Berkeley, California, in 1983, initially under the name Legacy. They are known for early albums including The Legacy, The New Order and Practice What You Preach, as well as songs such as “Over the Wall,” “Into the Pit” and “Electric Crown.” In 1988, Testament performed at Monsters of Rock at Donington Park on a lineup headed by Iron Maiden. Decades later, they joined Exodus and Death Angel for The Bay Strikes Back tour, which opened in Europe in 2020 and reached North America in 2022. Far beyond their Northern California base, the band has performed at Germany’s Wacken Open Air and at Hellfest in Clisson.
