About The Anniversary
The Anniversary is an American indie-rock and emo band formed in Lawrence, Kansas, in 1997. Keyboards and shared male-female vocals shaped the group’s sound on the albums Designing a Nervous Breakdown and Your Majesty, while “The D in Detroit,” “All Things Ordinary” and “Sweet Marie” became signature songs.
The Anniversary toured clubs and theatres in the early 2000s, including runs with The Get Up Kids, Superdrag and Guided by Voices. After breaking up in 2004, the band reunited for shows in 2010 and returned again in 2016 for Riot Fest.
