About The Black Sorrows
The Black Sorrows are an Australian band formed in Melbourne in 1983 by singer, songwriter and saxophonist Joe Camilleri. Their music draws on blues, rock, soul, country and zydeco, and they are known for the albums Hold On to Me and Harley and Rose, as well as the songs “Chained to the Wheel,” “Hold On to Me” and “Harley and Rose.”
During the 1980s, The Black Sorrows established a busy live schedule in Australian pubs and clubs before taking their music to Europe. The band later became a repeat performer at Byron Bay Bluesfest, where its sets have drawn on Joe Camilleri’s extensive songbook.
