The Dickies in West Hollywood

The Dickies are an American punk-rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1977 by singer Leonard Graves Phillips and guitarist Stan Lee. Their fast, comic approach became known through the UK hit “Banana Splits (Tra La La Song)” and punk versions of “Nights in White Satin” and “Paranoid.” Their early albums include The Incredible Shrinking Dickies and Dawn of the Dickies. The band played the Whisky a Go Go during its first years, then toured Britain after its early singles found an audience there. Later US itineraries included the Vans Warped Tour. Return trips to Britain brought further club dates and performances at Rebellion Festival in Blackpool.
