The Kennedys are an American folk-rock duo formed in 1992 by married musicians Pete and Maura Kennedy. Their music draws on folk, jangling guitar pop and Americana; their catalogue includes the albums River of Fallen Stars, Life Is Large and Stand. During the 1990s, Pete and Maura Kennedy toured together as members of Nanci Griffith’s Blue Moon Orchestra. They subsequently built their own touring history through folk clubs, listening rooms, theatres and festivals in the United States and the United Kingdom. Their concerts use the duo’s core format: Maura Kennedy sings and plays rhythm guitar, while Pete Kennedy supplies harmony vocals and lead guitar.
