The Rheingans Sisters in Remscheid

The Rheingans Sisters are an English folk duo formed by Peak District sisters Anna and Rowan Rheingans. Their music draws on English and Scandinavian traditions, pairing original songs and instrumentals with traditional material. They are known for albums including Bright Field and Receiver, and “Mackerel” received the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Original Track. The Rheingans Sisters have performed at Cambridge Folk Festival and Celtic Connections in Glasgow. They have also toured folk clubs, theatres and arts centres across Britain and continental Europe, adapting their two-person repertoire to both festival and seated concert settings. Their concerts centre on the sisters’ voices and multi-instrumental playing, including fiddles, banjo and tambourin à cordes. Traditional tunes, original songs and instrumental pieces are arranged and performed by Anna Rheingans and Rowan Rheingans.
