The Unthanks are an English folk group formed in Northumberland in 2004, led by sisters Rachel and Becky Unthank with pianist, arranger and producer Adrian McNally. Originally billed as Rachel Unthank and the Winterset, they became known for stark arrangements of traditional songs and albums including The Bairns, Here's the Tender Coming and Mount the Air. In 2015, The Unthanks marked their first decade with an expanded ensemble at the Royal Albert Hall. They have also performed at Glastonbury Festival and Cambridge Folk Festival, adapting their arrangements for theatres, concert halls and outdoor stages. Their concerts centre on Rachel and Becky Unthank's close vocal harmonies, Adrian McNally's piano arrangements and Becky Unthank's Northumbrian clog dancing.
