About The Volunteers
The Volunteers are a South Korean indie-rock band formed in Seoul in 2018 and fronted by singer and guitarist Yerin Baek. After first releasing music online, the group made its official debut with the self-titled album The Volunteers in 2021. Its best-known songs include “Violet,” “Summer” and “S.A.D.,” while the later EP New Plant extended its guitar-led alternative-rock sound.
In 2022, the band undertook its first North American tour, performing in clubs across the United States and Canada. The Volunteers returned to North America in 2024 following New Plant, and that run included an appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago.
