About Tim Minchin
Tim Minchin is an Australian comedian, songwriter, actor and composer, born in Northampton in 1975 and raised in Perth. He is known for piano-led musical comedy and songs including “Prejudice,” “Thank You God” and “White Wine in the Sun.” He also wrote the music and lyrics for the stage musicals Matilda the Musical and Groundhog Day.
Dark Side played the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2005 before a run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where he received the Perrier Comedy Award for Best Newcomer. Ready for This? followed as an international theatre tour, while Tim Minchin and the Heritage Orchestra placed his songs in an orchestral concert setting that included the Royal Albert Hall. After a long break from touring, he returned with Back, a concert show built around piano, original songs, spoken comedy and a band.
