About Violent J
Violent J is an American rapper and producer from the Detroit area, best known as one half of the horrorcore duo Insane Clown Posse alongside Shaggy 2 Dope. His work is closely associated with the group’s Dark Carnival mythology and records such as The Great Milenko and The Amazing Jeckel Brothers; his solo releases include Wizard of the Hood and The Shining.
At Woodstock ’99, Violent J performed as part of Insane Clown Posse. The following year, he and Shaggy 2 Dope helped stage the first Gathering of the Juggalos at the Novi Expo Center. He later toured with Shaggy 2 Dope on the Bang! Pow! Boom! Tour and The Mighty Death Pop! Tour.
