About Will Sheff
Will Sheff is an American singer-songwriter and the founder and frontman of indie-rock band Okkervil River, formed in Austin in 1998. His best-known work includes the albums Black Sheep Boy and The Stage Names, as well as songs such as “For Real” and “Lost Coastlines.” He released his first solo album, Nothing Special, in 2022.
In 2005, Okkervil River toured with The Decemberists, and the two bands made a tour-only split EP featuring covers of each other’s songs. After releasing Nothing Special, he toured under his own name in North America and Europe, performing in clubs and theatres. His concert history as Okkervil River’s frontman also includes appearances at SXSW.
