About Okkervil River
Okkervil River is an American indie rock band formed in Austin, Texas, in 1998 and led by singer-songwriter Will Sheff. The band is known for literate folk rock and albums including Black Sheep Boy, The Stage Names and I Am Very Far, as well as songs such as “For Real” and “Our Life Is Not a Movie or Maybe.”
In 2005, Okkervil River toured behind Black Sheep Boy, followed by concert runs supporting The Stage Names and The Silver Gymnasium. Recordings drawn from years of performances were collected on A Dream in the Dark: Two Decades of Okkervil River Live. The band’s festival appearances have included Coachella and Austin City Limits Music Festival.
