About Young Fathers
Young Fathers are a Scottish trio formed in Edinburgh in 2008 by Alloysious Massaquoi, Kayus Bankole and Graham “G” Hastings. They make experimental hip-hop shaped by electronic music, pop and soul. Their debut album, Dead, won the 2014 Mercury Prize, while later records include White Men Are Black Men Too, Cocoa Sugar and Heavy Heavy. “Shame,” “In My View” and “Geronimo” are among their best-known songs.
In 2016, Young Fathers supported Massive Attack on the Ritual Spirit tour after contributing vocals to “Voodoo in My Blood.” They toured behind Heavy Heavy in 2023 and performed on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury Festival that summer.
