About 45 Grave
45 Grave is an American deathrock band formed in Los Angeles in 1979, with Dinah Cancer as its lead singer. The group helped shape the city’s early deathrock sound through punk, gothic rock and horror imagery. Its best-known recordings include the album Sleep in Safety and the songs “Partytime” and “Evil”; a reworked version of “Partytime” appeared in The Return of the Living Dead.
45 Grave played the Los Angeles punk-club circuit in the early 1980s and toured behind Sleep in Safety. Dinah Cancer later revived the band with a new lineup, returning its early catalog to clubs and festivals, including Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig.
