About Ashenspire
Ashenspire are a Scottish avant-garde metal band formed in Glasgow in 2013. Their music uses black-metal intensity, violin, saxophone and spoken vocals to address political and social themes. The band debuted with Speak Not of the Laudanum Quandary and became especially known for Hostile Architecture, an album centred on austerity, housing and urban inequality.
In 2023, Ashenspire performed at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg during the live cycle for Hostile Architecture. Later that year, the group also appeared at ArcTanGent.
