About Crywank
Crywank is a British anti-folk project formed in Manchester in 2009 by singer and guitarist James Clayton. Its lo-fi acoustic songs focus on depression, self-doubt and relationships, and the project is known for the albums James Is Going to Die Soon and Tomorrow Is Nearly Yesterday and Everyday Is Stupid, as well as songs including “Memento Mori” and “Privately Owned Spiral Galaxy.”
In 2019, Crywank announced plans to end the project after a farewell tour, but the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted that run. The band later returned to touring and marked the tenth anniversary of Tomorrow Is Nearly Yesterday and Everyday Is Stupid by performing the album in full on dates in the United Kingdom and North America.
