David Knopfler Tickets & 2026–2027 Tour Dates

David Knopfler is a Scottish singer-songwriter, guitarist and co-founder of Dire Straits. He played rhythm guitar on the band’s first two albums, Dire Straits and Communiqué, before pursuing a solo career that began with Release and later included records such as Lifelines and Ship of Dreams.

In 1978 and 1979, David Knopfler toured Europe and North America as Dire Straits’ rhythm guitarist. That period included the band’s 1979 Rockpalast performance at WDR Studio L in Cologne and the subsequent Communiqué Tour.
