About Jawbox
Jawbox is an American post-hardcore band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1989. Led by singer and guitarist J. Robbins, the group emerged from the Dischord Records community and is known for the albums Novelty, For Your Own Special Sweetheart and Jawbox, as well as songs including “Savory” and “Motorist.”
A one-off 2009 appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon briefly reunited Jawbox after its 1997 breakup. In 2019 the band returned for its first sustained tour in more than two decades, playing clubs and theatres across North America, including a hometown performance at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.
