About Kid Koala
Kid Koala is the stage name of Canadian turntablist, composer and visual artist Eric San, who was born in Vancouver and is based in Montreal. His sample-built instrumental hip-hop and electronic music is heard on albums including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Some of My Best Friends Are DJs, while the graphic novel Nufonia Must Fall extended his work into visual storytelling.
Kid Koala took the Vinyl Vaudeville revue on tour as a theatre production centered on turntables, puppetry and projected visuals. In 2014, he premiered Nufonia Must Fall Live at Toronto's Luminato Festival and later brought the production to theatres elsewhere. The show paired his live score and the Afiara Quartet with puppetry and real-time filming directed by K.K. Barrett.
