About Kumbia Kings
Kumbia Kings are an American group formed in Corpus Christi, Texas, by A.B. Quintanilla and Cruz Martínez. Their music combines Mexican cumbia and Tejano rhythms with Latin pop and R&B, heard on albums including Amor, Familia y Respeto and Shhh! and songs such as “Fuiste Mala,” “Shhh!” and “Sabes a Chocolate.”
In 2005, Kumbia Kings performed at Selena ¡VIVE!, the televised tribute concert held at Reliant Stadium in Houston. After the group split, Quintanilla and Martínez reunited the act for a 2009 concert at Estadio Universitario in Monterrey.
