Leif Vollebekk is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in Ottawa and based in Montreal. His music draws on indie folk, soul and jazz, led by piano, guitar and an unhurried vocal delivery. He is known for the albums Twin Solitude and New Ways, and for songs including “Elegy,” “Transatlantic Flight” and “Long Blue Light.” Leif Vollebekk performed material from Twin Solitude for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. Recordings made during later performances were collected on New Waves (Live Recordings ’19–’21), documenting his songs in a live setting. Among them is “I’m Not Your Lover,” recorded at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.
Rose Cousins is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Prince Edward Island who writes folk music centred on voice, guitar and piano. Her catalogue includes the albums The Send Off, We Have Made a Spark, Natural Conclusion and Bravado; We Have Made a Spark received the Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Solo. Rose Cousins has performed at Club Passim in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as the Winnipeg Folk Festival and Edmonton Folk Music Festival.
