About Lilys
Lilys is an American rock band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1988 by singer and guitarist Kurt Heasley. Its early records, particularly In the Presence of Nothing, drew on shoegaze and noise pop; later releases such as Eccsame the Photon Band and Better Can’t Make Your Life Better moved toward psychedelic and melodic indie rock. “A Nanny in Manhattan” became the band’s best-known song after appearing in a Levi’s advertisement.
During the early 1990s, Lilys supported My Bloody Valentine and Ride on tour. The personnel changed repeatedly in later years, and Kurt Heasley led the subsequent touring lineups.
