About Mandy Patinkin
Mandy Patinkin is an American actor and singer, born in Chicago in 1952, whose musical-theatre career includes originating Che in the Broadway production of Evita and playing Georges Seurat in Sunday in the Park with George. He won a Tony Award for Evita, while his concert recordings include Mandy Patinkin, Dress Casual and Mamaloshen, an album devoted to songs in Yiddish. Screen audiences also know him as Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride.
The Dress Casual concert program paired him with pianist Paul Ford for a Broadway engagement and subsequent touring. He later brought the Yiddish repertoire of Mamaloshen to the stage and toured Celebrating Sondheim, drawing on his long association with Stephen Sondheim’s work. The Diaries concerts retained the voice-and-piano format, accompanied by Adam Ben-David.
