Mick Thomas in Myrtle Beach

Mick Thomas is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist from Victoria, best known as the co-founder, lead singer and principal songwriter of the folk-rock band Weddings Parties Anything. Formed in Melbourne in 1984, the group recorded songs including “Father’s Day” and albums such as Scorn of the Women and Roaring Days. After Weddings Parties Anything disbanded in 1998, Mick Thomas kept touring, first with Mick Thomas and the Sure Thing and later with Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission. The latter became his principal band for Australian pub, theatre and festival dates, while recurring Christmas concerts at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel established a separate live tradition.
