Red Snapper in Brighton

Red Snapper are a British instrumental band formed in London in 1993 by double bassist Ali Friend, drummer Richard Thair and guitarist David Ayers. They play jazz-rooted electronic music shaped by dub, hip-hop and drum and bass, and are known for the Warp Records albums Prince Blimey, Making Bones and Our Aim Is to Satisfy Red Snapper. During the 1990s, Red Snapper toured as a support act for The Prodigy while building their own concert history in clubs and at festivals. After disbanding in 2002, they reunited in 2007 and returned to live performance. The concert setup is built around Ali Friend’s double bass, Richard Thair’s drums and David Ayers’s guitar.
