Artist
Roger McGuinn is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Chicago in 1942 and best known as a co-founder and frontman of the Byrds. His chiming 12-string guitar is central to the group’s recordings of “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “Turn! Turn! Turn!” and “Eight Miles High”; his solo catalogue includes the albums Roger McGuinn and Cardiff Rose. The Byrds performed at the Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967 and four years later played the London concert released as Live at Royal Albert Hall 1971. After the group ended, Roger McGuinn joined Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue in 1975; the following year he appeared in the Band’s farewell concert, The Last Waltz, at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco.
