Santiano in Regensburg

Santiano are a German band formed in Flensburg in 2011. They play folk rock rooted in sea shanties and sailors’ songs, adding elements of schlager and Celtic music. Their debut album, Bis ans Ende der Welt, established the group through songs including “Santiano” and “Frei wie der Wind”; later releases include Mit den Gezeiten and Von Liebe, Tod und Freiheit. A 2012 concert at the Hamburger Fischauktionshalle became the band’s first major live release. Santiano subsequently documented an arena show at Hamburg’s O2 World and an open-air concert at Berlin’s Waldbühne, while their 2019 MTV Unplugged performance was recorded at Kulturwerft Gollan in Lübeck.
