About Shihad
Shihad are a New Zealand rock band formed in Wellington in 1988. Their music ranges across alternative rock and metal, with key albums including Killjoy, The General Electric and Pacifier. “Home Again,” “My Mind’s Sedate” and “Pacifier” are among their best-known songs, and the group briefly performed under the name Pacifier before returning to Shihad.
Shihad played multiple editions of Big Day Out in New Zealand and Australia. In 2010 they supported AC/DC on the New Zealand leg of the Black Ice World Tour, then marked their 30th anniversary with a national tour in 2018. The following year, they performed The General Electric in full for the album’s 20th anniversary.
The band relocated to Melbourne for a period and played extensively around Australia, including headline shows in Sydney.
