About Shook Twins

Shook Twins are an American indie-folk duo led by identical twin sisters Katelyn and Laurie Shook. Originally from Sandpoint, Idaho, and based in Portland, Oregon, they are known for close vocal harmonies, acoustic instrumentation and looping, heard on albums including Window, What We Do and Some Good Lives.

Shook Twins have performed at Northwest String Summit, High Sierra Music Festival and Oregon Country Fair, bringing their harmony-led songs to folk, bluegrass and jam-oriented festival programs.

Their stage setup centers on guitar, banjo, looping and beatboxing, while a large golden egg shaker serves as a recurring percussion instrument. NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert documented this compact multi-instrumental format.
