About Steve Poltz
Steve Poltz is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Halifax and raised in San Diego. He first became known as the frontman of folk-rock band The Rugburns, then established a solo career with albums including One Left Shoe. He also co-wrote Jewel’s “You Were Meant for Me.”
During the 1990s, he fronted The Rugburns in San Diego clubs and performed with Jewel during their songwriting partnership. His later solo work has taken him through theatres, listening rooms, folk festivals and house concerts.
A Steve Poltz show commonly features him alone with an acoustic guitar, combining songs with extended stories and improvised material.
He has toured extensively through the United States and Canada and has repeatedly crossed Australia on national runs.
