About The Crystals
The Crystals are an American girl group formed in New York City in 1960, known for Phil Spector-produced pop and R&B recordings including “Da Doo Ron Ron” and “Then He Kissed Me.” Their catalogue also includes “He’s a Rebel,” recorded by Darlene Love and the Blossoms but released under The Crystals’ name.
During the 1960s, The Crystals performed at the Apollo Theater and toured the United States on multi-artist package shows. Later lineups brought the songs to oldies concerts for many years under founding member Dee Dee Kenniebrew.
