About The The
The The is an English post-punk and alternative rock project formed in London in 1979 and led by singer-songwriter Matt Johnson. Its central records include Soul Mining, Infected, Mind Bomb and Dusk, while “This Is the Day,” “Uncertain Smile” and “Heartland” are among its best-known songs.
The Infected World Tour supported the group’s mid-1980s album of the same name. Johnny Marr joined the touring band for the Mind Bomb period, which was documented in the concert film The The Versus the World. After the NakedSelf tour, The The returned to public performance in 2018, and that comeback was recorded as The Comeback Special: Live at the Royal Albert Hall.
