The Whitlams in Brunswick Heads

The Whitlams are an Australian piano-rock band formed in Newtown, New South Wales, in 1992 by singer and pianist Tim Freedman, guitarist Stevie Plunder and bassist Andy Lewis. Freedman has remained the group’s central songwriter through subsequent lineup changes. Their best-known recordings include the album Eternal Nightcap and the songs “No Aphrodisiac,” “Blow Up the Pokies” and “Fall for You.” In 2007, The Whitlams joined the Sydney Symphony for concerts at the Sydney Opera House, presenting their catalogue in orchestral arrangements. In 2022, the band returned to theatres around Australia for the 25 Years of Eternal Nightcap tour and performed the album in full.
