About Marcus Miller
Marcus Miller is an American bassist, composer and producer, born in Brooklyn in 1959, whose music draws on jazz-funk, fusion and R&B. He wrote, arranged and produced much of Miles Davis’s album Tutu, worked extensively with Luther Vandross and David Sanborn, and established his solo catalogue through releases including M² and the composition “Power.”
In 1981, he toured with Miles Davis in the band documented on We Want Miles. He later took the Tutu Revisited project on the road with trumpeter Christian Scott and followed it with the orchestral concert album A Night in Monte-Carlo. His own band has also performed at Montreux Jazz Festival and North Sea Jazz Festival.
