Zion Train in Newcastle upon Tyne

Zion Train are a British dub group formed in Oxford in 1988. Their music sets reggae bass lines and studio dub effects against electronic dance rhythms; key albums include “Passage to Indica,” “Siren” and “Live as One.” Zion Train began performing live in 1990 and developed a touring format centred on Neil Perch’s real-time dub mixing, vocalists and brass players. The group has carried that setup into clubs and open-air events, including performances at Glastonbury Festival and Poland’s Przystanek Woodstock.
